Accessibillity

On the day of the Egmond Halve Marathon, Egmond aan Zee will be closed to incoming traffic from 08:00 to 18:00. We therefore strongly recommend using the shuttle buses to reach the event location.
Shuttle buses
On the day of the event, Egmond aan Zee will be closed to incoming traffic from 08:00 to 18:00. During this time, you can reach Egmond by shuttle bus, bicycle, or on foot. Participants and spectators are strongly advised to use the shuttle buses, which provide a direct service to Sporthal De Watertoren in Egmond aan Zee. The journey takes approximately 15–20 minutes from Alkmaar and about 15 minutes from Heiloo. Parking is available in both Alkmaar and Heiloo, where you can leave your car before continuing by shuttle.
Shuttle tickets
To use the shuttle service, you’ll need a valid ticket. Pre-ordered tickets cost €6.00 and will be issued along with your race bib as a QR code. If you choose to purchase your ticket on the day, the price is €7.00 per person.
Children aged 12 and under can travel on the shuttle bus free of charge. Please note: if you buy your ticket at the departure point, be prepared for possible queues at busy times.
Departure times
Shuttle buses will depart from the designated pick-up points approximately every 5 minutes, starting at 08.30 and continuing until midday, en route to Egmond aan Zee.
After the race
Shuttle buses will depart from Sportlaan, near the VV Egmondia football club in Egmond aan Zee. This departure point is located approximately 200 metres from Sporthal De Watertoren. Return shuttles to Heiloo and Alkmaar will operate between 12.00 and 18.00 hours.
Peak time
Departure queues for the shuttle buses tend to peak between 14.30 and 16.00, which can lead to long waits at the pick-up point in Egmond aan Zee. This is not only inconvenient for participants, but also puts extra pressure on the organisers. If you're not in a hurry, you may prefer to relax in a café rather than queue during the busiest time. Additional buses will be running during this peak period to help reduce waiting times. However, please be aware that Egmond is a coastal village with just one main road, so some delays are unavoidable.
Public transport
If you’re planning to travel by train, we recommend getting off at Heiloo station and taking the shuttle to Egmond aan Zee. The shuttle pick-up point is located approximately 100 metres from the station and is clearly signposted.
Car
We recommend parking in one of the designated car parks and continuing your journey to Egmond aan Zee by shuttle bus.
